Rally to Tell Portland City Council – No Live Nation in Our City! Thursday, Sept. 19, 12-2pm

Portland has a multi-billion dollar independent music-driven economy. Live Nation-Ticketmaster, which is currently being sued by the Justice Dept, and joined by 30 state attorneys general, for monopolizing markets across the live concert industry, is targeting Portland with a proposal to open a venue on Water Avenue near the Hawthorne Bridge.

Live Nation’s predatory, profit-seeking, and unlawful conduct in the pursuit of market control has come at the cost of industry workers who seek fair standards, local promoters, venue operators, and is a threat to our community values and local economy. We must do everything in our power to stop Live Nation and demand a local owner/operator instead. Our best shot at stopping Live Nation from breaking ground is appealing their Land Use permit and telling Portland City Council to Cancel the Live Nation/Ticketmaster Deal. Learn more about Live Nation’s corporate greed here!

Rally with Jobs With Justice and Music Portland as we fight corporate greed, and fight for our local economy! Music Portland will rally nearby City Hall (TBA) on Thursday, September 19, 12 – 2pm just before the appeal hearing for Live Nation’s conditional land use permit.

Let’s show up and tell city council NOT to support a Live Nation-owned and operated venue here in Portland!

Location: Near City Hall, 1900 SW 4th Ave.
