Support Striking Grocery Workers (12/17-12/23):

Local Kroger workers at Fred Meyer & QFC voted to go on strike Friday, Dec. 17 – Thursday, Dec. 23. Support the strike by joining a picket and doing your shopping elsewhere! Here’s a list of mass picket times and locations.

“These employers refuse to acknowledge that their worker’s wages are not keeping up with the cost of living, leaving them and their families at risk while providing food for our community.” – UFCW 555 Secretary-Treasurer Sandy Humphrey

Support Portland Teachers:

The staffing crisis, substitute shortage, and intense student needs are bringing schools and classrooms across the district to the breaking point. The Portland Public School Board needs to know that we stand with teachers! Send an email to your School Board member and sign the petition to support Portland teachers and students.

Support the Causa Workers Union:

The union of workers at Causa Oregon won recognition of their Union – Unidxs Por La Causa – in March 2020. They have been bargaining to secure a fair contract for nearly two years. Sign the petition to tell Causa to stop union busting and negotiate a fair contract.

Celebrate One Year of Measure 110!

Join the Health Justice Recovery Alliance and Unite Oregon in celebrating the one year anniversary of Measure 110’s passage on Thursday, Nov. 4 at 5:30pm!

Oregon made history when voters decided it was time to stop criminalizing drug use and start saving lives. It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since we voted for this law, winning the election by a 17-point margin, in counties progressive and conservative, urban and rural. And a lot has happened since then:

– All drugs have been decriminalized.
– The first round of Measure 110 grants have gone out to harm reduction and addiction recovery service providers, immediately infusing our behavioral health system with funds to address Oregon’s dire addiction crisis.
– The Oregon legislature passed a law to strengthen the Measure.
– Some services have already been funded at a faster timeline than the law originally promised.

It’s safe to say that the new law is up and running across the state. Let’s celebrate the progress we’ve made together, and how we can continue working to make critical, low-barrier services available to every Oregonian who wants them.

Event Panelists:
– Anthony Johnson, Chief Petitioner and Drug Policy Reform Activist
– Haven Wheelock, Chief Petitioner and Harm Reductionist
– Janie Gullickson, Chief Petitioner and Addiction Recovery Service Provider
– Ron Williams, Outreach Director, Health Justice Recovery Alliance

This Saturday: Solidarity Rally for Striking Nabisco/Mondelez Workers at 10:00am!

The huge, profitable multi-national corporation, Nabisco/Mondelez, is destroying union jobs – outsourcing work, eliminating pensions, increasing healthcare costs, cutting pay for overtime.

Nabisco bakery workers in Portland (BCTGM 364) walked out at noon Tuesday, August 10th, demanding a fair contract.

Join strikers on the picket line this Saturday. Bring snacks and drinks. Make solidarity signs.

This multiracial group of workers are taking on the billionaire class. Their struggle is our struggle. Thank them for reminding us how to fight, using the most powerful weapon workers have — the strike.

Location: 100 NE Columbia Blvd, Portland
