Then at 1:00pm, we’ll kick off a powerful program featuring speakers fighting to make universal healthcare a reality in our state.
Our health care system is broken—and it’s killing us. For-profit insurers and corporate middlemen deny care, drive up costs, and profit off our pain. Decades of piecemeal reforms have only made things worse: skyrocketing prices, massive waste, and some of the worst health outcomes among wealthy countries.
We say: enough. We demand a system that puts people before profit—where health care is treated as a human right, not a business.
We are calling for:
- The elimination of private insurance companies and for-profit care.
- A national, publicly funded single payer program that covers everyone—comprehensively and equitably.
- A transformation of our health care system to serve communities, not corporations—freeing caregivers from corporate control and putting power in the hands of the people.
This event is happening in Portland, but we’re not stopping here. Activists are organizing sister actions across Oregon and around the country.
