BerniePDX is proud to join Bernie Sanders in endorsing Susheela Jayapal for Congress in CD-3! Susheela will fight for universal healthcare, affordable housing policies, a Green New Deal to combat climate change and create jobs, and work to ensure full reproductive rights for all. Susheela was the first candidate in this race to call for a cease-fire in Gaza back in November; she understands that more violence will not bring peace or stability to anyone in the region.
Susheela used her position as a Multnomah County Commissioner to urge Oregon’s federal members of congress to support the PRO Act, which will strengthen workers’ ability to organize in the workplace and enhance protections for union activity. Susheela will continue to be a strong proponent of workers’ rights and a living wage in Congress. Susheela’s background, experience, and platform will make her an effective advocate for BerniePDX values in Congress, and we are thrilled to support her!
